Malaysian Idol: Most malaysians have poor taste!

Appalling! Malaysians, mostly teeny-boopy screaming whining gurlies, have chosen Daniel.

The only good thing about Daniel is: hair, and cute face. But the cute face gets a minus when he smiles to show his crooked teeth. Can Daniel sing? Puh-leeze! Nita is far better singer.

Most of these gurlies chose Daniel because of his soft-soft (like girly) voice. Not because of his talent. Plus, that over-rated, over done hype of the light blonde hair look (can Malaysians please get over that hongkie look?).

Sorry, but I don't buy Paul Moss's explanation that it's popularity. I believe it's talent. With talent, a record company can market to meet the needs of the people. It has been done for so long and have been successful!

These reality shows don't give the talent due credit. When choosing a participant is solely dependent on a voting system, you then throw out talent. It's all a pretty face, and a hot bod that counts. Why need even the judges? Obviously, their opinions didn't count.

Nita's songs on the Grand Finals were OUTSTANDING! Her best was Mimpi! Ohh.. simply awesome!

Daniel is not a Malaysian Idol, but a Malaysian Idle.

Sigh.. here's hoping the best for Nita.

Political Party Wars: the people get hurt the most

The latest in the mud-wrestling: MIC.

I was amused by V.K. Chin's article on MIC's president Samy Vellu's contribution to the Indian people. Very amused.
Since when did Samy Vellu or MIC did anything significant for the Indian community that it has developed far greater than it was, say, 10 years ago? Seems like the Indian is still stuck in the same time zone as it was then.

Even as a Works minister, he doesn't seem to be doing a good job (if you read the papers, you have read about the development of the road works for a highway that enroached the buffer zone within a residential area).

I guess V.K Chin must be vying for some good points.

I vowed never to get involved in this party ever since my Dad was involved. He worked his butt off only to receive zero recognition for his efforts. Not in terms of monetary or position, but due recognition. None.

It is this very attitude that Samy Vellu has of "not forgetting nor forgiving" that has stumbled the party and in fact, the community themselves. The same goes for Datuk Subramaniam. Both of them DO NOT have the people in mind. Rather, it is the POWER they are vying for.

Everyone in MIC working hard for position is not doing it for the sake of the people, but for themselves.

I have relatives in prominent positions in MIC and all I can say - they will change course of direction wherever the power is! And this is the sentiment, or even better the culture, of the MIC party.

In fact, it is the MALAYSIAN Political culture!

In all the mud-slinging, the bystanders suffer. If there are such divisiness within the parties, how can they work together for the good of the citizens?

Feeling The Pinch: When the wallet hurts, so does our FUTURE!

The more we slave every hour for payslip at the end of every month, we are entrusting our whole life into the cares of the ones who gives us that slip. And we think to ourselves, "Oh! What a wonderful world!".

While our throats may not as coarse as Louis Amstrong's, it would when we realise our security is rather.. false! That's when the other slip comes about!

Do we think that just because our employers hired us, they are going to take of us? If we had wives or children, would our employers, our bosses tell us, "Not to worry, Josh. We will give them you payslip since you were an employee!".

If we did, let's give ourselves a very big slap on the face. Make sure it hurts. Because one has to be the opposite of smart to think that.

Oh, wait, oh wait.. I have "INVESTED". Oh yes. I have seen how that has helped. Problem is, there are no guarantees whatsoever in stocks, shares, bonds and whatever that rides upon the credibility of the market growth. There are some things that are much, MUCH more secure & GUARANTEED than that of the dependency on the flaky thin ice of the share market.

There are some things that have withstood the ups and downs of the economy with growing income. As long as there is continuous human need, some businesses are inflation and recession proof.

Sadly, people still prefer to remain complacent than to prepare a wall of security and bed of comfort should hard times come. And even if doesn't, we can still enjoy life, now to a greater new height!

Yet, people today still prefer the "quick buck". That's why "INVESTMENT" is so very much manipulated and conjured for purposes of making money. People still think the Holy Grail is actually money dropping from the sky. Unfortunately, we are at time too blind to notice the Grail right before our eyes.

If we could realise that this one we live, we can live better - us and our families, all we need to do is work smart & hard for only a short period of time, to enjoy a lasting legacy of financial freedom!

Companies are downsizing, and they are not giving a hoot about the employees. Why should they? It bottomline that matters. We may be in the way of that bottomline. Where do we go from here?

I am working towards my freedom, are you?

Have a blast!

As reported in the NST yesterday, Malaysians today are very concerned with ever-increasing cost of living expenses and the economic conditions. Why? Because it seems that it is getting difficult to cover their living expenses with the salary they receive.

The truth is, it is the reality. As more and more people work hard and harder, they only trade hours for dollars.

However, as long as people trade their hours for dollars in a conventional job, they cannot duplicate their efforts through others to yield profits for themselves. As an employee, whatever we may duplicate to generate more sales or volume, most of the profit (if not all) goes back to the top management and shareholders.

Not easy for even a conventional business to duplicate their efforts to increase more hours to produce more volume. Why? Every manpower is an expense.

How does this relate to the article? It's about making money. Money is not everything, yet almost everything requires money!

The way I look at it, we could slave every day for money. Or, we could get money to slave for us! As cost of living escalates, it seems that our salaries don't match the escalation.

We work the same hours. Make the same money. Unfortunately, not the same expenses. It's time for us to take evasive action!

What a break!

Oh, yes. A much needed rest for me. After all that running around (which accounts for the lack of posting on the blog), it was a great welcome!

Amazing how when we arrive at the eve or the week of the holiday, we automatically tune into a holiday mood? No matter how much I may love the work, I still look forward to the holidays?

That's because naturally we want to be able to control our time. That's why we yearn for holidays - not just for rest - to run own activities with no boundaries. Imagine for those who had to WORK on Merdeka Day (oh yeah, what fun... NOT!!) ! A friend of mine had to fly down to Singapore for a meeting. When he could have stayed back with his wife and daughter and do things for his own interests? Hmm, I would bet my top RINGGIT that he didn't think for a minute it was his idea of FUN!

Anyhow, how about everyday a day in YOUR control like a MERDEKA holiday? No rush thru the jam, No need to jostle with people at the LRT, No need to elbow old aunties at the Mall....

I loved the holiday and I want it every other day! My life's shortening and coinciding with our Independence Day, I want to have my independence!

How about you?

Have a blast!
