The Religion of Work

Read in today's The Star, Section Two, about people being hopelessly devoted to their work.

The articles says that in a research done, some people "were so passionate about their job they believe it defines who they are and gives their life meaning.". It also states where some directors find more meaning at the workplace rather than at home or socially! (Are these the new psycho-worker army of the future?)

It goes on to say that a lot people want to put in the extra long hours because they find they could make a difference at their workplace.

However, the articles stresses that "having a job that makes you feel valued and part of a community does not in itself render you unbalanced. The imbalance occurs when work is the only place where your needs are being met."

One important note mentioned in the article is about the meaning of work. "The Spanish word for work, trabajo, comes from a Latin word for an instrument of torture."

I would like to say that work is NOT life. When someone begins to say that it defines them or they find their lives in work, I personally believe they have situations in the lives that they won't reveal but would rather facade it over with an unreal zeal that is not really there.

Life is definitely worth much more than work. When you open your eyes to understand that this earth is far beyond the cubicle, then you would realise you want the freedom to experience life completely and fully beyond the cubicle.

Remember, Trabajo, is an Instrument of Torture.

What?

I am still very suprised by the complex human behavior.

People tend to be very confused by simple things. That's where we are today. The world we live in constantly weaves into our minds a whole of complexed gibberish thus making us unable to understand simple truths.

A number of my friends were very perplexed by a question I asked. "Do you want more time and money?". It seems very foreign, yet desirable but somehow hindered by their own fallacies.

They would answer with great enthusiasm, "EVERYONE wants to have more time and lots of money! Who doesn't?". I would love to answer them now, "It you. You don't seem to grasp the value of TIME nor how more money can help you help others."

Suprisingly, a lot of doubt comes from the Christian quarter. I am a Christian too. Hoping they would grasp the truth of escaping the clutches of the wordly system by having control of our own lives and having money serve us, as opposed to what most Christians are in today - sucked into a world system that demands more and more of their time AND makes them chase the Ringgit bill, they turn saying, "I don't think I can. Am very busy with ministry". And doesn't ministry require money to run? If your boss required you to put in another 1 hour for an important job, would you say, "I don't think I can. Am very busy with ministry". If you want to be consistent, then be one.

This really astounds me. What is a better ministry than that to your own family? Wasn't the letter clear that our family is very first ministry? Now, what's more frustrating is that most Christians are selfish. My offer, to have money and time, is only achieved when we help and serve others to do the same. What can a better ministry than that of helping others to find hope for their families?

What's worse - can you be any freer tomorrow or 2 years down the road? Why not do something now that only requires 30 min a day?

The fact that most Christians say, "I find my work gratifying and have fulfillment.", simply states that they have utterly failed the simple truth that our families are THE most important asset. Coming home from a gruelling 8 hours of work to spend the extra 1 or 2 with the children or spouse, or only looking forward to weekends IS NOT LIVING the GODLY truth!

Oh, what about the Christian who says, "My work is my ministry". To this, maturity and understanding fails to grasp the poor person. If they cannot see beyond helping others in a real practical way, how then can they really help others through their work or other ministry? In my mind, I simply go, "You have got to be kidding me!". The best way to touch lives to touch them practically while we minister to them spiritually! Oh, how many people are crying out to break free from the job frustration!

The funny thing is how Christians pray very hard for leave when they need to go for retreats or camps. This is from the same people whose work is their ministry. Comedians.

Now, if someone wants to continue working, hey, that's great (although why give away the best hours of life to another man?), however, what if we could work together to contribute financially towards the church and the community?

Friends, get real. Sometimes, we need to understand the bigger picture. The real dilemma. How many of us can give very big generous amounts monthly to support the church building or the Pastoral team? How of us understand our Pastors and fulltime workers deserve incomes far greater than that of those in managerial position in the world?

Yet, your answers seems to say, "Who cares?".

Besides Christians, many of my friends who are not christians do not seem to grasp the fact that they CAN break the binds that ties them to the job. You love your job but does your job love you?

I have said this many times before - all the achievements, fulfillments, accolades, pats on the back, promotions is all about - better income. If that is taken away, bitterness reigns. We move on. Suddenly, our so-called ministry or our so-called place of fulfillment doesn't cut it anymore!

When you realise your time and money is controlled by another, then realise you are bound. I challenge everyone to break free and build towards a community of FREE people who can share and teach the values of God, Family, Hope, Reward and Friendship!

Have a blast!

There's nothing else quite simple

How many of us would love more money? And what about complete FREEDOM with the money?

I am sure there are many out there who love what they do. And that's ok. It gives satisfaction, a sense of achievement. Perhaps at this juncture, the work routine doesn't BITE yet.

However, to many of us, clocking in and out, reporting to a boss (who incidentally doesn't help us to get HIS job!), beating traffic, missing out family time, the best friend is TV - it has become a real BIG CANCER affecting our lives!

I love money. Of course, more importantly I love to have my time with the family and for myself. But there is no such thing as having all time with a job. On closer inspection, a job takes away the very best hours of our lives.

My business couple mentors came to Malaysia from half-way across the globe (from US) to speak to our little organisation. Not a big one that could even warrant the dough power to pay for their flight tickets & their stay at the suite in Sunway Resort Hotel. They paid for everything on their own. Had even bought us dinner. Can you imagine that! Which business has this kind of culture of people really, really helping others without demanding anything in return.

When a visitor was there at our small team meeting, he was so awe struck at the humility and cared showed by this couple. And that moment, he wanted to be part of this great association!

What I have seen in my lifetime cannot compare to this great organisation of successful business builders! And best part - it is so simple that it baffles our simple mind. Only the ambitious will grab it without hesitation and make it run for them! It is not easy. And I didn't say that. It is a simple concept. Every business requires effort.

Making your expenses work towards a very healthy profitable income for you is not a financial investment program. There is no such program that does that except this business program. You can do conventional business or be involved in programs where you become a salesman OR you could leverage on what you, I and everyone else are doing out there.

Do you want money? Do you want FREEDOM? You can have both!

Have a blast!

One INSTANT LIFE, please!

Instant.
This is the lifestyle of TODAY.

Instant noodles.
Instant coffee.
Instant TV dinners.
Instant cookies.
Instant blending.
Instant relationships.
Fast Food.
Fast lane. literally.
Fast to work.
Quick dinner.
Quick "Hello".
Quick "Bye".
Quick kiss.

Welcome to the Instant Life! With it, you also have the main course of Instant Pressure. Instant Datelines. Instant reports. Instant death. We thank you for your patronage.

Instant.. Fast.. Quick. Quite the life many lead. Being in the advanced Age of Industrialisation, we have grown to beat our bodies to create instant results. To work FAST, speedily. To be on the move, to be quick on our toes.

However, as we cherished the opportunities each challenges provides, we learnt to live on the INSTANT.

We have lost the value of living life. There's no such thing as "Smelling the roses". It's too slow. No time. So we have forgotten that love grows with time. You can't find done in an INSTANT.

We understand the need to love and be loved. Yet, with the need to get things done, to get ahead, to get moving, is taking that love away. Unfortunately, we have yet to realise there's a deep chasm of emptiness building up FAST!

Life is not about on the GO. Life is not about being INSTANT. Not about moving FAST nor being QUICK. It is about Irealising how FAST our lives can fade in an INSTANT with a QUICK blink of an eye.

The working environment today requires us to be SPEED workers. Always on the move. Always due yesterday. This is the environment of DEATH. More and more very YOUNG people, who have yet to taste the goodness of life, live out their very LAST DAYS with the QUICK attack of the heart - Alone!

It is good to have certain instant stuff. Good to have things done fast. Great to be quick with certain responses. However, it is never good to life live furiously on the INSTANT that it passes you by, only leaving you an empty shell that you can vividly remember as life!

So think about your life. Think about making your life count. Don't live life by the INSTANT. Live it to its FULLNESS!
You can make a change today.

Have a blast!

Never wait for tomorrow lest it brings sorrow..

Sounds poetic, eh?

Well, it's true, nevertheless. Most of us are comfortable at where we are that we don't realise we live in a rotting decaying rut. Think about it. What do we do in the VERY BEST hours of your LIFE? At what inhuman time do we wake up to the alarm and who are our road companions on the way to the fortress of Sorrytitude?

Our lives, which are far greater a value than that of a payslip, is reduced to the petty words of B-man, Da Boss! Whatever the B-man says, we worship (with curses, yet we worship) every word.

What if tomorrow doesn't turn out the way it has been always been? What if tomorrow brings to a screeching grinding halt your pay? What if tomorrow declares aloud in the papers of yet another petrol hike!?

We take for granted our lives. We take for granted the rutty job. We think it will be there for ever. We think our lives are so set when we are so blind to the fallacy of employment.

Maybe if we took time to reflect about my lives, our families and about tomorrow. Maybe then we will realise it is not about our what we want, it is about what we NEED.

And most often, what we NEED doesn't come in cute little pinky wrappers..

Have a blast!

Samy Vellu & The Bullock Cart

Sounds like a dang great title, ain't it?

I just wonder.. this is coming from the supposed senior experienced veteran politician who runs a political party. Is it just me or is Samy Vellu is going senile? Or he's the epitome of a lame excuse for snouting greedy politician?

Even if the residents were at fault, shouldn't this.. guy.. speak like someone who is serving the community? Of course, please don't expect that from the money suckers.

It's time for Indians and others alike to STOP depending on political parties to help the communities. If people can help people, then the community can help themselves.

We need to work towards attainment financial freedom and the others does the same, it benefits the people.

When we have wealthy, enligthened and caring generation building others and themselves, we can build a better, stronger, caring community that builds a better, stronger, more caring NATION!

Stop giving to others when you can give yourself!

Malaysian Idol: Most malaysians have poor taste!

Appalling! Malaysians, mostly teeny-boopy screaming whining gurlies, have chosen Daniel.

The only good thing about Daniel is: hair, and cute face. But the cute face gets a minus when he smiles to show his crooked teeth. Can Daniel sing? Puh-leeze! Nita is far better singer.

Most of these gurlies chose Daniel because of his soft-soft (like girly) voice. Not because of his talent. Plus, that over-rated, over done hype of the light blonde hair look (can Malaysians please get over that hongkie look?).

Sorry, but I don't buy Paul Moss's explanation that it's popularity. I believe it's talent. With talent, a record company can market to meet the needs of the people. It has been done for so long and have been successful!

These reality shows don't give the talent due credit. When choosing a participant is solely dependent on a voting system, you then throw out talent. It's all a pretty face, and a hot bod that counts. Why need even the judges? Obviously, their opinions didn't count.

Nita's songs on the Grand Finals were OUTSTANDING! Her best was Mimpi! Ohh.. simply awesome!

Daniel is not a Malaysian Idol, but a Malaysian Idle.

Sigh.. here's hoping the best for Nita.

Political Party Wars: the people get hurt the most

The latest in the mud-wrestling: MIC.

I was amused by V.K. Chin's article on MIC's president Samy Vellu's contribution to the Indian people. Very amused.
Since when did Samy Vellu or MIC did anything significant for the Indian community that it has developed far greater than it was, say, 10 years ago? Seems like the Indian is still stuck in the same time zone as it was then.

Even as a Works minister, he doesn't seem to be doing a good job (if you read the papers, you have read about the development of the road works for a highway that enroached the buffer zone within a residential area).

I guess V.K Chin must be vying for some good points.

I vowed never to get involved in this party ever since my Dad was involved. He worked his butt off only to receive zero recognition for his efforts. Not in terms of monetary or position, but due recognition. None.

It is this very attitude that Samy Vellu has of "not forgetting nor forgiving" that has stumbled the party and in fact, the community themselves. The same goes for Datuk Subramaniam. Both of them DO NOT have the people in mind. Rather, it is the POWER they are vying for.

Everyone in MIC working hard for position is not doing it for the sake of the people, but for themselves.

I have relatives in prominent positions in MIC and all I can say - they will change course of direction wherever the power is! And this is the sentiment, or even better the culture, of the MIC party.

In fact, it is the MALAYSIAN Political culture!

In all the mud-slinging, the bystanders suffer. If there are such divisiness within the parties, how can they work together for the good of the citizens?

Have a blast!

Feeling The Pinch: When the wallet hurts, so does our FUTURE!

The more we slave every hour for payslip at the end of every month, we are entrusting our whole life into the cares of the ones who gives us that slip. And we think to ourselves, "Oh! What a wonderful world!".

While our throats may not as coarse as Louis Amstrong's, it would when we realise our security is rather.. false! That's when the other slip comes about!

Do we think that just because our employers hired us, they are going to take of us? If we had wives or children, would our employers, our bosses tell us, "Not to worry, Josh. We will give them you payslip since you were an employee!".

If we did, let's give ourselves a very big slap on the face. Make sure it hurts. Because one has to be the opposite of smart to think that.

Oh, wait, oh wait.. I have "INVESTED". Oh yes. I have seen how that has helped. Problem is, there are no guarantees whatsoever in stocks, shares, bonds and whatever that rides upon the credibility of the market growth. There are some things that are much, MUCH more secure & GUARANTEED than that of the dependency on the flaky thin ice of the share market.

There are some things that have withstood the ups and downs of the economy with growing income. As long as there is continuous human need, some businesses are inflation and recession proof.

Sadly, people still prefer to remain complacent than to prepare a wall of security and bed of comfort should hard times come. And even if doesn't, we can still enjoy life, now to a greater new height!

Yet, people today still prefer the "quick buck". That's why "INVESTMENT" is so very much manipulated and conjured for purposes of making money. People still think the Holy Grail is actually money dropping from the sky. Unfortunately, we are at time too blind to notice the Grail right before our eyes.

If we could realise that this one we live, we can live better - us and our families, all we need to do is work smart & hard for only a short period of time, to enjoy a lasting legacy of financial freedom!

Companies are downsizing, and they are not giving a hoot about the employees. Why should they? It bottomline that matters. We may be in the way of that bottomline. Where do we go from here?

I am working towards my freedom, are you?

Have a blast!

FEELING THE PINCH: Reality Bites!

As reported in the NST yesterday, Malaysians today are very concerned with ever-increasing cost of living expenses and the economic conditions. Why? Because it seems that it is getting difficult to cover their living expenses with the salary they receive.

The truth is, it is the reality. As more and more people work hard and harder, they only trade hours for dollars.

However, as long as people trade their hours for dollars in a conventional job, they cannot duplicate their efforts through others to yield profits for themselves. As an employee, whatever we may duplicate to generate more sales or volume, most of the profit (if not all) goes back to the top management and shareholders.

Not easy for even a conventional business to duplicate their efforts to increase more hours to produce more volume. Why? Every manpower is an expense.

How does this relate to the article? It's about making money. Money is not everything, yet almost everything requires money!

The way I look at it, we could slave every day for money. Or, we could get money to slave for us! As cost of living escalates, it seems that our salaries don't match the escalation.

We work the same hours. Make the same money. Unfortunately, not the same expenses. It's time for us to take evasive action!

What a break!

Oh, yes. A much needed rest for me. After all that running around (which accounts for the lack of posting on the blog), it was a great welcome!

Amazing how when we arrive at the eve or the week of the holiday, we automatically tune into a holiday mood? No matter how much I may love the work, I still look forward to the holidays?

That's because naturally we want to be able to control our time. That's why we yearn for holidays - not just for rest - to run own activities with no boundaries. Imagine for those who had to WORK on Merdeka Day (oh yeah, what fun... NOT!!) ! A friend of mine had to fly down to Singapore for a meeting. When he could have stayed back with his wife and daughter and do things for his own interests? Hmm, I would bet my top RINGGIT that he didn't think for a minute it was his idea of FUN!

Anyhow, how about everyday a day in YOUR control like a MERDEKA holiday? No rush thru the jam, No need to jostle with people at the LRT, No need to elbow old aunties at the Mall....

I loved the holiday and I want it every other day! My life's shortening and coinciding with our Independence Day, I want to have my independence!

How about you?

Have a blast!

What you love to do vs What you want to have!

We really need to understand that there is a difference between what we love to do and what we want to have!

I met a friend of mine recently. He ventured into what he loved to do. I did speak to him about achieving financial security while he's on the pursuit of passion. He brushed me aside saying what he did was what he loved and he wanted to put in 100% of his time & energy.

That was about 4 months ago.

Just recently, I heard he quit his job. I met up with him for a cuppa in Ikea and we talked about what happened, what to do now and the sort. He's very much in a financial challenge. Having to live now by whatever he can do - not what he loves. He needs the money, so he tries to do whatever he can.

Ironic, isn't it? Being a friend and wanting to help him NOT experience this again, I shared to him about this very thing of what we love to do versus what we want to have. It is not related and it is very important to identify. The "what I love to do" bit has to do with interest. The "what I want to have" has to do with security. Your interest can be pursued, but never at the expense of security.

You may love to be an enterpreneur who just loves to be in a business of what you love. Yeah, sure sounds like a dream. Perhaps not. Most often than not, it is a nightmare. I told my friend that reality bites. We need money and we need to ensure that our lives would be driven into financial slavery at NO COST - whether at the cost of doing more than just what we love to do or even wait for something like that!

I told him that I rather drink the cup of tea brewed for financial security than the bitter unswalloable tea of time & money slavery! I rather work on the side apart from what I do to ensure my life to be free. Freedom is worth drinking the cup of tea even if I don't like tea.

It's better than to drink your boss' cup of tea.

Have a blast!

No matter how much I love the work.. the JOB's still a RUT!

Can you imagine this? Waking up real sleepy. Why? Because of the need to trade hours for dollars.

I live in USJ. I used to wake up at 6.30am to leave by 7.00am. These days, no matter how much the cool morning beckons my body to take another 2 hours sleep, I need to get wakey, wakey by 6.10am. To leave by 6.30am.

*Slap on Forehead!!* How's that for getting up to do what you love to do!

You must be kidding me. Don't get me wrong. I love what I do. Have my own business in mobile & Internet services. Enjoy the work, yet.. I STILL HATE THE RUT!

Loving my work DOESN"T mean I HAVE to give up the best hours of my life. Loving my work DOESN'T replace the fact that I LOVE my LIFE more. Like my family. Plus my sleep..*Grunt*!

The other thing is about lunches & afternoon naps. Will talk about that later. It's the next best thing after watching a Movie on Monday morning 10am without worry your phone will ring or sms from the boss... :-)

Have a blast!

Get out of the RUT.. BE FREE!

We should be living our lives as we want to. Not clocking in, clocking out.

Being FREE simply means you are controlled by the variables that chokes us to slaving daily. It means, rather than rolling out, we are able to rolling OVER. Enjoy the bed, the rest. Enjoy the weather. Only waking when we WANT to, not when we HAVE to.

Not being controlled by the alarm. How dreadful is that? Every morning. Damn alarm! Enjoying greater standards of living without the need to slave another day. Of course, these are the fruits of certain efforts. But if it doesn't take me another 20 yrs to achieve it and I can get it done within 6-12 months, why not?

Who loves to start living only after 55? That's total b*llsh*t! That's when after all that stress, anxiety of slaving for a madman it starts to affect our lives and when we began to deteriorate with all kinds of diseases!

Live ought to be lived when we can truly enjoy it! Our purpose to enjoy it with our loved ones!

Take today for instance, the real stupid jam spoilt my day! For a moment, at least. Wasted my time. Then again, rather than face that stupid jam, I would love to be in BED! Snoring!

Yeah, we all love to work (yeah, yeah.. take a look at the boss, first). But who loves to wake up wee early in the morning, to brave the war of the cars, filled with stress & anxiety?

Just GET FREE!

Ah, the Perfect Business!

Below is the list of the Dow Theory Letters compiled by Richard Russell. This summary of the letter contains 12 values a perfect business should contain. It is to assist anyone is looking for a business to venture into.

Before even I was exposed to the list, I had believe that the business I am in has contained more than just the 12 values stated. All the more excited I was when I heard one of my mentors, an acclaimed Financial & Business Planner expert, use the Dow Theory Letter perfect business values to affirm that what indeed we are building is indeed the Perfect Business.

I am very proud of what I am building as it affirms the values set below. Whenever looking out for a great business venture, always, always keep your mind open. Nothing is what it seems. Believe me, I know as I speak as a conventional business man now enlightened towards greater possibilites.

Anyways, have a good read. The full article can be found here! Enjoy!

By Richard Russell

AH PERFECTION: Strange, but the most popular, the most widely-requested, and the most widely quoted piece I've ever written was not about the stock market -- it was about business, and specifically about what I call the theoretical "ideal business." I first published this piece in the early-1970s. I repeated it in Letter 881 and then again in Letter 982. I've added a few thoughts in each successive edition. But seldom does a month go by when I don't get requests from subscribers or from some publication or corporation to republish "the ideal business." So here it is again -- with a few added comments.

(1) The ideal business sells the world, rather than a single neighborhood or even a single city or state. In other words, it has an unlimited global market (and today this is more important than ever, since world markets have now opened up to an extent unparalleled in my lifetime). By the way, how many times have you seen a retail store that has been doing well for years -- then another bigger and better retail store moves nearby, and it's kaput for the first store.

(2) The ideal business offers a product which enjoys an "inelastic" demand. Inelastic refers to a product that people need or desire -- almost regardless of price.

(3) The ideal business sells a product which cannot be easily substituted or copied. This means that the product is an original or at least it's something that can be copyrighted or patented.

(4) The ideal business has minimal labor requirements (the fewer personnel, the better). Today's example of this is the much-talked about "virtual corporation." The virtual corporation may consist of an office with three executives, where literally all manufacturing and services are farmed out to other companies.

(5) The ideal business enjoys low overhead. It does not need an expensive location; it does not need large amounts of electricity, advertising, legal advice, high-priced employees, large inventory, etc.

(6) The ideal business does not require big cash outlays or major investments in equipment. In other words, it does not tie up your capital (incidentally, one of the major reasons for new-business failure is under-capitalization).

(7) The ideal business enjoys cash billings. In other words, it does not tie up your capital with lengthy or complex credit terms.

(8) The ideal business is relatively free of all kinds of government and industry regulations and strictures (and if you're now in your own business, you most definitely know what I mean with this one).

(9) The ideal business is portable or easily moveable. This means that you can take your business (and yourself) anywhere you want -- Nevada, Florida, Texas, Washington, S. Dakota (none have state income taxes) or hey, maybe even Monte Carlo or Switzerland or the south of France.

(10) Here's a crucial one that's often overlooked; the ideal business satisfies your intellectual (and often emotional) needs. There's nothing like being fascinated with what you're doing. When that happens, you're not working, you're having fun.

(11) The ideal business leaves you with free time. In other words, it doesn't require your labor and attention 12, 16 or 18 hours a day (my lawyer wife, who leaves the house at 6:30 AM and comes home at 6:30 PM and often later, has been well aware of this one).

(12) Super-important: the ideal business is one in which your income is not limited by your personal output (lawyers and doctors have this problem). No, in the ideal business you can sell 10,000 customers as easily as you sell one (publishing is an example).

That's it. If you use this list it may help you cut through a lot of nonsense and hypocrisy and wishes and dreams regarding what you are looking for in life and in your work. None of us own or work at the ideal business. But it's helpful knowing what we're looking for and dealing with. As a buddy of mine once put it, "I can't lay an egg and I can't cook, but I know what a great omelet looks like and tastes like."

AP and all.. Really FUNfare, the Malaysian Govt!

This is such a ballyhoo by none other than Dr. YAM and Tengku MAHAL-eel.

I think Proton is such a cry baby. Go on, suck your thumb. In business, we learn to brave the storms. I learn from my association with very successful people, you find opportunities in every obstacle.

Perodua is one such case. No running to daddy-ho Dr. YAM if got slap in the wrist. Perodua has learnt to fight for survival because they weren't given a manja-ing from the Govt which happened to Proton DURING the tenure of Daddy-Ho Dr. YAM!

All this AP thingy started with Daddy Dr. YAM trying to defend his pet, MAHAL. Funny thing, though. Most of this dirt was cause during his tenure as the PM. He claims not to know anything. Yeah, right. A Billion Ringgit industry and "I am not aware of what happens". And Proton is the best car in the world! (*yuck*). Even if Dr. YAM claims he's clean and has nothing to do with cronyism, he still must know that the car industry IS DEFINITELY beneficial to the country's economy.

Of course, he doesn't even earn as a Proton Adviser, he has made his moolahs while PMing with his pet project, Proton.

Please, Dr. YAM. Why not trade your Perdana for a Proton Wira and after one year, let's see you hold praises for it?

Both Dr. YAM and MAHAL-eel are not real businessmen, IMHO. They have been and are over-protected rich kiddies having their whims and fancies served on a silver platter. Get real. Deal with the problems professionally. Not splatter all over the news.

Lil Kev & Fly Guy

WE all know them. And we all know they are no longer the "Hits" of HitzFm's Morning Crew. In fact, they defined the Morning Crew.

Anyway, got news where they are now -

Fly Guy - now running FlyFM on 95.8FM (or is it 98.5?). other than the station ID, there's hardly any talking to be had on that station; but i'll wait and see.

Radio DJs

It is amazing to hear our DJs on air. The repertoire and the enegry to keep up must be incredible. I enjoy Richard and Shaz on MixFM. Fantastic pair there. Not to mention Ika, Aldeena are great when they speak - impeccable!

My fav DJs used to be Lil Kev and Fly Guy from HitzFM and George (the Geek) from WOWfm. Neither are around anymore. Yeah, Lil Kev and Fly Guy were at times annoying, which made it all the more interesting since it break out of the monotony of the routine. George was gross, but hey, gross = cool.

Btw, anyone know where Lil Kev and Fly Guy is right now? or what are they are up to? Would be great to catch up with our old time DJs.

Have a blast!

"Dream Job" is an oxymoron.

You have seen the Ads. Seen the promos. Even surfed the site.

Yes, it's that reality show. In fact, I should say, another reality show. Well, we all know the Nescafe Kick-Start program has been on. This is "Season" 2 for year 2005. You can check out the program at Nescafe Kick-Start. It's that programs that brings participants together working with their mentors to win their dream job. The participants win moolah of RM150,000 and they embark either on setting up a company or to pursue higher education etc to achieve their dream "job".

The term Dream Job brings a chuckle to me. Yeah, perhaps to you young 'uns, you might think that there is a such a thing. I sure used to. Found out it was like that Microsoft Demo Heaven Hell joke (you know where the Heaven scene was a demo, the actual program was Hell). When I started working 18 years ago, I was vying for the dream job. When you landed one, you dreamt again for another. However, I found out that the term DREAM JOB is nothing but an OXYMORON. Dream and Job are like saying ANGELIC HELL or like LOVABLE BOSS or even like SECURE JOB.

It may start out as a dream (most probably because you are high on sugar that you took in your cuppa on that morning you are starting work because you are excited to get started), however, it ends up quite the opposite (when you find out that a job is nothing more than "Chosen Slavery").

I like to distinguish between work and job. I love the work, but I hate the job. The work is what I do. The job is what I need to go through - the motion. And very very importantly, I never dumb down MY dreams to my job. There's nothing wrong getting a job. We all need that right now to bring the bacon (or salad, for the healthy ones) home. However, do we all want to end up slaving away trading hours for dollars til we are popped out at 55? Or even 40? I for one found out that my job and work didn't help achieve what I truly wanted.

Nescafe Kick-Start may offer you an opportunity to be in a job you love after completing your studies or even start your own company. Being a conventional entrepreneur myself, I found that even holding a job as an entrepreneur is STILL being a slave to your business. I never wanted to slave to a boss or even to a business. My goal was to make money (lot's of it) and get out to enjoy my life. Didn't find that true for conventional business. However, after a while, found an entrepreneurial program that allows me to do such. There's still work, best part is I don't need to GIVE AWAY my life! Especially my best strong years! (the ones where I am still able to move around..)

I am young, well.. according to some people. So, I intend to retire before I am 37 (which someone reminded me that I am not far off from .. *hint*).

Rather than having a DREAM job - be it for a boss or a business - I rather WORK for MY DREAMS! Your most important DREAM should first and foremost be about YOU and your loved ones!

Home studios anyone?

In the course of building my business, I come to meet people a lot. One recent associate I came to know is a student studying here and is from Botswana. Very much into the music scene especially house, funk, African music and the sort.

Since two of my goals are to be involved in Christian music fulltime (I am a drummer btw) with the church band I'm with and to have my own underground home studio, we found common ground and chatted. And I found out that he wanted to cut some demo for his pieces that he had done.

The only problem was: COST. As someone once said, "Money is not everything. Yet, almost everything requires money." We met with one of my friends who is in the Sound sytem line. However, truth be told, we still needed a studio to make a demo piece.

If any of you know who has a home studio and is willing to work on venture basis (which means, no money down now - only later when CDs can sell) and work on this as a project, pls shoot me an email at joshuagm@gmail.com.

Have a blast!

More from the other end of the Rainbow..

Hey, thanks Poulette for sharing. I understand about the power of believing. I do believe everyone needs to realise that. However, I feel that there are programs, business and general, that don't cost you a bomb.

That's why I'm involved in my church and have the right business mentorship with the values and principles that supports my own and my partners (who are not Christians). Both of this helps us with the end goals while developing ourselves.

Just my 2 cts worth!

Poulotte said...

The training focus on your goals and plans. It is suppose to help you to prioritise what are important to you - ur career, family, personal ambition, relationship, etc...whichever matter to you most. Then you work it out to achieve them.

It is tough, well, many times, we don't achieve most of our goals in real life anyway. We give up and we always have very valid excuses and reasons and justifications. So here in the Asiawork training, they make you see that there are actually possibilities.

Frankly, there are many possibilities...but some are just to tough and some people can't handle it. Thus, they quit or complain but some became more determined and try to achieve it, well, tho not succesful all the time, but heck, at least you try, right?

I heard bout the fire thing, but people still won't walk thru it if they don't believe that they can do the impossible.

Just like driving, some of us can drive to anywhere and anytime. Drop me in Australia, yes, I will go behind the wheel and drive. Easy.

But to some people, for e.g. my sister will never have the guts to drive. I dunno what is her reason but totally think that she can't. Lack of confidence and fear, I guess. I mean, comon, it is just driving, almost everyone do it.

Well, I am just giving point of views from both ends. Nothing is really good or bad. It all depends what you want and what are your perceptions.

When I was there, I hated the enrolment. Like hey, why should I be selling Asiaworks to my friends. I don't get the money.

But later, I realised something. Those who can enrol are generally (not all) just good in most areas of their lives. They don't complain bout enrolment but they just do it, not because they have to, but because they enjoyed it and they totally believe that people will benefit from it. The power of believing again.

It is kinda working life. You noticed some people complain bout their work - almost everything. My boss is blah blah blah. My colleagues are blah blah blah. My company is stupid blah blah blah. Some people run companies and yet burdened with lotsa responsibilities and companies goals. Yet, they are positive and high achiever. And they focus on ur solving their problems and achieving their goals rather than keep talking bout how bad things are.

As for making money, Asiaworks is a business entity..so making money is their goal. I rather they make money than they go busted. Cos if busted, it only shows that all these self development is fake and total BS.

Phew! I said enough. Sorry to talk too much in your blog. But thak you for the opportunities.

Have a blast, everyone!

Hearing from the other side of Asiaworks..

Ah, from the other end of the rainbow. Thanks Poulette. My question still remains, are you suppose to give this training greater priority over your other goals and plans?

Poulotte said...

I attended Asiaworks many many years ago. I was in LP8. IMHO, the training is good.

Well, it is not a cult. No practices or no worshipping any gods or no sacrificing anything in that sense.

Brainwashing? Perhaps to some people it is. Because this is what happen. It suppose to open ur blinkers or widen ur box or ur paradigm. So, it will show you what it is like in the opposite point of view.

If you are someone who is quiet and reserve, trust me, they will make you talk and express. If you are someone who talk a lot and sorta love to be the center of the attention, they will let you experience what is it like to shaddap and listen to others for once.

It is taking you out of ur comfort zone. Some people will have a sudden realisation that they can actually do those things that they always thot they can't once given the opportunity experience the things they will never do if not under "have to" circumstances.

The training also give u a really honest and frank opinion about urself...things that u never thought u r that kind of person. These are achieved through exercises. If you are participate in the exercises 100% and have a open mind, u will see the results even before the de-briefing. Some people just cannot accept the frankness coz it does hurt.

Well, it is a self development course...so those who sign up expecting nothing be done to them must be not thinking.

If you attend Asiawork, go with a open mind and open heart. Enjoy the training and make the best of out it. You pay lotsa money for it so make sure u learn everything possible.

Just like bungee jumping - many people won't do it but many people have done it and actually loved it and felt liberated. Some done it and hated it and in worst case, people died, but still it is still a famous sport.

Anthonny Robbins made people walk on fire after his seminar. And thousands of people can do it. Power of the mind, power of believing.

I am definitely not selling Asiaworks but I find it beneficial, even after many many years. My brain is still intact, if washed, I guess for the betterment of myself.

Well, I still go thru up and down after the training,so it is not a miracle course or problem solving center. But I have a wider perspective in life and know that possibilities are endless. You still are the one to put the learning into practice and make them happen.

The downside of the training is that it is very costly, but most self development courses or even professional courses are blardy expensive in this country.

Actually, I came to know that walking on fire in Tony Robbins seminars has nothing to do with mind power. It has to do the science of what time of the day to walk on and what color the coals are. Apparently, it is not as what it seems. Marketing in the best form? Imagine, shoot yourself in the hand AND feel no pain, you will ( a bit of YODAism there). Bah, humbug (a bit of Scrooge too)!

There are courses or self-development where you don't give your arm, leg or KFC O.R. Chicken Fillet Burger away. I hear that you need to get focused on enrolment. This is where I don't buy this whole thingaroo.

It's ok to promote it since it instills value yet you are happy since you don't make money out of your friend. YET, you allow Asiaworks to make money out of them. Yes, I think Asiaworks MAKES A WHOLE CASELOAD of BUCKAROOS from people! Worst, they have to give their KFC O.R. Chicken Fillet Burger away. Sad, sad..

To be successful you must be willing!

"Once you've closed yourself off to new ideas, you've ceased to grow."
- Napoleon Hill

I read this article titled "Successful people listen to new ideas" and I do agree.

In order for you to be a WINNER, you NEED to be willing to hear out ideas. Whether old ones or new ones, always reflect them as if they are new. The moment we say, "Oh, that one.. I have heard it before.. blah blah blah". Most of the time, we just spit out BLAHS not knowing what we are hearing. We only assume. Which, incidentally, most of us are good at.

The moment we decide to say to ourselves, "Why not?" or "Yeah, no harm listening" or "Maybe I missed something the other times someone else said it" or "I am sure I can pick something here", we open ourselves to GOLDEN opportunities that is lying in wait for us to grab.

Don't say NO, say "WHYNOT?"

Have a blast!

The funny part is they use rick flair opening theme song on every starting session.

Eh, ZEO, brainwashing IS cult-like behavior. Question is, do you sense any change in yourself or in others?

Perhaps they advocate watching wrestling? Hmmm.. I wonder if Asiaworks is part of WWF? Oops, no offence intended for our dear WWF fans! :-o

Smiling non-stop, eh? I wonder if it gets the mandible muscles all worked out...

Steve Job's Commencent Address

Here's an excerpt from Steve Job's commencent address if you hadn't take the trouble to follow the link previously. Really inspiring :

This is the text of the Commencement address by Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studios, delivered on June 12, 2005.
...
.... No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

When I was young, there was an amazing publication called The Whole Earth Catalog, which was one of the bibles of my generation. It was created by a fellow named Stewart Brand not far from here in Menlo Park, and he brought it to life with his poetic touch. This was in the late 1960's, before personal computers and desktop publishing, so it was all made with typewriters, scissors, and polaroid cameras. It was sort of like Google in paperback form, 35 years before Google came along: it was idealistic, and overflowing with neat tools and great notions.

Stewart and his team put out several issues of The Whole Earth Catalog, and then when it had run its course, they put out a final issue. It was the mid-1970s, and I was your age. On the back cover of their final issue was a photograph of an early morning country road, the kind you might find yourself hitchhiking on if you were so adventurous. Beneath it were the words: "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish." It was their farewell message as they signed off. Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish. And I have always wished that for myself. And now, as you graduate to begin anew, I wish that for you.

Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.

That was just the partial address. For the full address, get your sweet eyes over here!

Life is short. Don't waste it slaving for someone else's dream! Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.

Have a blast!

I have been to Asiaworks basic, but I couldnt go further more since the training is quite harsh. My bro finish his LP. Harith and Aflin was there.

How do you find these participants brainwashed and In what sense is it harsh? Anyone has any other take on this? You could email me or leave a comment.

Like I mentioned below, these trainings are meant to help us work towards our goals and vision. Apparently, I hear a bit of the contrary when it comes to Asiaworks. Maybe it's just hearsay or perhaps it is true. Nevertheless, it is always good to hear what Asiaworks is all about and what they do.

More of my take on Asiaworks..

Don't get me wrong. I think self-development is important and if Asiaworks helps any individuals achieve greater sense of confidence and self-image, hey, that's superb!

However, I believe that seminars and trainings are merely TOOLS to assist us in our goals, dreams and vision in life. They are to us help be effective in keeping our priorities so we may achieve what we have aimed for.

Yet, if these tools take over and force themselves to be a goal or a vision and sets itself as a priority, then I believe it is wrong. If that truly can happen, I believe that the individual has no vision or goals or dreams and if that is so, he or she doesn't have any sets of priorities to begin with. If a person has goals in life to achieve, then one has to careful so as to draw a line. Again, these trainings are merely TOOLS to help us to achieve our purposes. Not to be the purpose.

I hope I am wrong about this, yet I am beginning to see how specialised trainings such as Asiaworks' have turned around and made themselves as priorities in the participants life. It seems like it is an ongoing activity. I just hope it doesn't RULE other priorities and vision in life that it becomes the MAIN activity.

People share about Asiaworks because it is good, it helps and so forth. They don't make money out of recruiting people because it is a good thing. I suppose it is a noble aspect to help another fellow human being? But in the end, Asiaworks DOES make money. If you want to learn to have a purpose in life, to achieve greater development in character and leadership, to serve others, to care for others, to be noble AND get everyone to experience it and yet NO ONE makes money out of it, the church is the answer. Since the beginning of time, this was always God's plan.

Have a blast!

This AsiaWorks thing..

I must say that this Asiaworks courses are beginning to seem like a combination of new age practises.

Most training and courses aren't, well, as deeply concentrated and ingrained. Question is, what kind of self-discovery is this? To what or to whom?

I hear that personal lives are open for all to see and hear. Again, seems like new agey stuff. Kind of like a religion.

Hmmm.. a cult?

Have a blast!

IT Grads in US not interest in tech firms

Just read the paper this morning about IT graduates in US not interested in tech jobs such as writing codes or to even work at a tech company. They want more lucrative career paths such as consulting.

Read the full article here at the Associated Press.

Grimm outlook for the local IT industry? Too many grads, too little jobs. It's no more the employee's market.

Make a choice.

Sometimes making a choice is not exactly what we would like to do. Yet, we must.

Received a comment for my Truly, Deeply snip-note below..

Don said...

I agree with you here totally. I have done everything in my power to achieve the goals of spending my time enjoying life with people that I like. You never know when it all may end.

I've reduced my cost of living, I reject conspicuous consumtion, I shop at thrift stores and discount grocery stores, I make do with what I have whenever possible and try my best to be self-sufficient.

Dump that corporate job that has you using up your precious life doing something that means nothing to you. If you aren't enjoying yourself doing something that satisfies you, you are a slave. Envision the life you want, and live it. You don't get a second chance.

It's great to hear you have decided to live your life, Don. Hope it works out.

I do have my personal vision and aspirations for the kind of life I want. However, whilst I do want to be self-sufficient (in fact, I think all of us need to be. The term self-sufficient here is being able to provide for yourselves, rather than dependency on a J.O.B), I aspire to more than a "just getting by" lifestyle. I want to enjoy life. Enjoy the different cultures, foods, holidays, time with my family, beautiful things. And why not? We were not created for a "just getting by" life!

I have been running my personal business to achieve exactly that. I do want a great lifestyle. If I can afford a great lifestyle, it means I can do more for others who are in need. And I have seen one too many. I have decided to be a Millionaire. It is more than the cars, the house, vacations, resorts, being debt-free, no doubt I would love that, I want to help people around me. To be an impact to my community. The best part is, everyone else can do the same. Imagine, a world community of financial free people helping others in need!

I am not saying this is what everyone should envision this for themselves, rather I am saying WE can do more for our families, ourselves and others around WHEN WE DECIDE to have more than just slaving for a boss. What I would like to advocate here is FINANCIAL freedom. No debts plus no dependency on slaving for a buck. Think of the endless opportunities for us and our families.

Decide now. Make THAT choice.

Have a blast.

Truly, deeply..

Ask yourself this: what do I truly, deeply want? need?

Is beating our bodies every morning to the rigours of routine at the very early ring of the alarm, while at the same rendering our bodies the lack of rest it truly needs, truly deeply our calling in life?

Or perhaps it could the chance of commuting with thousands of other bodies in vehicles at the same time whilst beating the red, yellow, green light device that controls the flow of traffic gushing through the morning?

Is this TRULY, DEEPLY our want? Or do we YEARN and LONG for a better life and LIFEstyle? Perhaps this is not our destiny. To live the routine that we go through now, that is. Perhaps it is to enjoy life while we can. To spend the limited time we have with people whom we truly cherish.

Look really deep into your true self and ask: What do I truly, deeply want and need?
And then decide to act.

I have. What about you?

Have a blast, boys and girls!

Personal FREEDOM includes..

FREEDOM to live peacefully.

I am amazed that in this age of technology, science and wondazement, terrorism still abound. Like a bloody plague. Like a disease, just worst.

My blog is mainly about attaining FINANCIAL and TIME FREEDOM. I do, on many occasions, write on things that rummage thru my mind like a sprinting squirrel.

What bothers me is: terrorists.

One way I believe we could step up to terrorism is to STOP playing Al-Qaeda's threatening messages. It is people like the Al-Jazeera TV network that is also a collaborator, if you asked me. They play the video, knowing well it will affect people & the economy.

The newspapers could also keep their journalistic hunger in check. Just because it's newsworthy is not necessarily a wise move. Publishing threats by terrorists is simply giving these terrorist their leverage. This is what they want - FEAR!

Take away that leverage, and how would they feed their egos? They would be nothing but a deflate piece of used up balloon!

As much I respect the Bible, I respect the Koran as well. I believe all this allegations by prisoners of the Gitmo are lies (in fact, there are. Read at the LA Times page). I believe it is a corrupt tale to justify acts of terrorism.

What is stopping an extremist from mishandling the Koran (all for the highest purpose) him/herself and thus reporting in the papers that the retailers had sent them a defaced Koran?

Hey you, news people! Stop giving leverage to these terror-pigs!

Make a difference - live in peace!

The Body, in the afternoon..

We were made to sleep in the afternoon, comprende?

Imagine, in Mexico, people take a siesta in the afternoon. In some places, people are encouraged to take naps.

I rather take naps AS LONG AS I want and not waking up to the boss' mug staring down at me.

Afternoon naps, God's gift to man (besides, women don't take naps.. they prefer cleaning the house).

Have a nap!

Why suffer, O brother?

Lament, lament, lament..
*sigh*..

stretching on the bed, feeling the cool of the covers on the body, cool air blowing down, bird chirping (occasional baby crying, old hag screaming down a few blocks away)...

the body is at peace with itself. This is totally natural.

AND WHAT I WANT ON A MONDAY OR TUESDAY (or every other day) MORNING!

Can't wait to smash my STOOPID alarm clock! (actually mine's a teeny weeny lil watch alarm thingy..need to get a bigger one so smashing seems fun!)

Blast off to la-la LAND!

It's is a beautiful day, *grunt*..why need to work?

The morning's cool. A perfect day to sleep in.

Nooo... why did I have to do?

Roll OUT of my comfy bed at 6:15am, hog the road with millions other morning zombies, and get to office.

All this with body screaming in protest!

I believe my body is saying that it was not meant to suffer like this. Come to me, thy precious bed!

*zzzz....*

Father's Day Irony..

It is amazing alright. Father's Day, that is.

What a great time to see Dads being appreciated. And all the great speeches. Dads thanking their families. And so forth. But something is missing. The TRUE father.

In this Father's Day, I find some irony. Today, Dads and Moms don't really spend time with their children. Not as much as they ought to. In the days of old, we find Dads and Moms having much more time with the family. And thus, came the Mother's Day & Father's Day celebration. Of the 2 greatest people on earth who gives us their lives.

Yet, in today's 21st century high-tech age families, quality time is far from the mind (and heart). It is understandable to be able to provide for food, shelter, necessities and some good stuff, but is that all? What happened to quality time with the family? I wonder if keeping a child in grandparent's home outstation and visiting during weekends is an idea of giving their lives to their children.

What's happening is the fact that most parents are spending MORE time with their BOSSES than they would with the people they LOVE most (unless it's their boss.. freaky!). Calculate and see if that's not true. And worst, they don't mind their children spending all the time with the grandparents and the maid. Today, children see the maids as an alternative parent. What a dysfunctional world we live in today!

If parents can be fulltime parents to their children without worry about income, why aren't they doing so? If residual income is proven and accepted today, why not? And if thru that, financial security is gained, why not? With moral decay seeping more and more into our society through the media, shouldn't we spend more time with our children to bless them with values AND friendship? How much is imparted when we get back from work? Or during the weekend? Or do we depend for church leaders to impart on our behalf? If so, than we would all be sorry excuses for parents.

The worst irony is that most Dads know that a job (or a fancy-pancy word,"career") is NOT secure anymore (in fact, they never were) and ties them down more and more. To add salt to injury, their wives have to work and get tied down. Yet, they do NOTHING to gain that FREEDOM for their families and themselves. Something about not being their cuppa of tea.

As someone once said, "It's not about whether it is your cup of tea. You are drinking your boss' bitter cup of tea. You prefer that?".

The irony is the man of the house prefers to slog to make someone's dreams come true, rather than his and his family's. Father's Day celebration should be for all father's who fight to free their families!

Have a blast!

More cuts and losses...

The National Australia Bank (NAB) announced yesterday it would shed 4,200 jobs here and in Britain and Asia during the next two year.

Delta Air Lines Inc said on Tuesday it would not generate enough cash to meet its needs this year, raising new alarms that the airline could have to file for bankruptcy in the next few months

Common Sense, People!

IBM just cut 13,000 jobs.

"No, it won't happened to me"
"The big blue is a secure job"
"I am a manager. Am set for life"
"I can find a job easily"
"I want to build my career"

Again, IBM just cut 13,000 jobs.
Why? Because they want to have better numbers of their account sheet so shareholders will be happy.

Do you think your employer loves you? If you do, you are not different than an alcoholic.
You need to get sober. Get real.

A job has never been secure. I just can't understand people. The economy is NOT all that rosy. Thousands of University graduates cannot find jobs. Thousands of graduates TODAY work in a job that is NOT related to their field of study.

Entry pay for graduates stink. And will continue to stink as they "pursue their careers". Gimme a break.

Time to look at the world thru a "Clear, real, true" glass. It's either you start to build a future thru a proven vehicle, which you need to take extra time (well, not really extra time - recycled unproductive time), and lay a foundation for ongoing income OR.. you could live in a fantasy world.

The future doesn't lie in fantasy - money doesn't grow in a job, in stocks, in investments - but in determined hands.

Where Are We Going To?

How you would know where people are going is by listening to them.

Most people DON'T have a direction or a vision for their lives. I should know, I was one of them!

When you sit down with your friends, the one thing (or actually, more than one) that comes out from their mouths would NOT be compliments of their job or for their boss! It would be contrary. It would be comments how harrowing their week has been, how tough work it, how terrible their boss is etc.

When it is all whining and complaining, frankly, that's not how I would love to live the rest of my life! It's not that our friends are being negative, it is what a job gives! A RUT LIFE!

I discovered this when I realised one morning that I MUST have control of my life - not giving it away to my boss!!

Let's decide today!

Have a blast!

Against the grain..

Why is it that people complain about their life, work and circumstances YET not willing to change it?

It is because people are either complacent, scared or have sold out to the world system's views of a job!

If only people would look at their families, their situations, the truth about job insecurity, about how time doesn't wait for anyone, about helping others. Most of the time, people are SELFISH! That's right. The reason a lot of people don't do anything for their FREEDOM from a job is simply because they are looking at themselves. Not at others. People don't realise it is about helping others - especially people dearest to them. I mean, seriously, would a child care how much money you make? Or how much time you have for them? When was the last you could spend all day, all week, all month, all year with your beautiful wife or baby or parents? Most of the time, they are fixated on themselves, their lack of time blah-blah-blahs! When you have passion to reclaim your life, nothing else matters!

Perhaps you can change your mentality. If you have an avenue, which is leveraging what you do anyway, would you help another person's life to be better?

For the first time in your life, look at how you can be an impact.

Have a blast!

TIME cannot be EARNED!

No matter how rich, how powerful, how influential you are - once time is spent, you cannot recover it back.

How often we neglect the value of time over our finances, our achievements, our work, even our FAMILIES! We take for granted, we can catch up with TIME. Sadly, TIME has no regards for our busyness! It has no consideration for our limitations.

We can spend 8-10 hours a day with people who will not mourn our deaths, let alone remember us.
We can choose to spend the rest of our lives, a year from today, with people longs for our company.

Make your LIFE count - for the people who love you!

"You cannot change your current conditions with the same thinking that created those conditions"
-Albert Einstein

That's why 95% of what we do is: LEARN from SUCCESSFUL people to GROW our heart & mind!
They teach us to purge our old failure thinking and fill with RIGHT principles & thought patterns to help us to move towards our DREAMS & GOALS!

And as we do, we do our 4% activity of calling people with 100% DETERMINATION & EXCITEMENT!

However, if we only do 4% or 0% learning, we would still be trying to do 95% of the activitiy with FAILURE thinking that we have been in. We all need the proper attitude, principles, motivation & inspiration to fill our hearts & mind to dilute the negative doubts that our environment is creating so we can run towards our DREAMS with EVERYTHING we have got!

Don't wait. Start now.. for your future. It is as BRIGHT as a DIAMOND!

Give Unto Others.. and you will be FREE!

It was fantastic to hear and see live on stage a Millionaire whose is one of our heroes!

Marshall Johnson, thru one of tape, helped us realise what this business is really about. Heart.

And when he spoke that night on stage, I could see the man's heart - humility & compassion! This is what servanthood is all about. At the end of the each night, he left us a message - "Dream BIG, BELIEVE & Pass it ON!".

If i could tell you in one sentence what we learnt, was ALL about "Dream BIG, BELIEVE & Pass it ON!".

It was simply awesome! Let's help people realise DREAMS were given to be made REAL!

Have a blast!

The Path To Freedom

Is filled with challenges, no doubt. Or are they?

I choose to see it as road bumps along the highway. You will see them coming, yet after going thru, you will look forward, not at the rearview mirror.

However, the path to freedom IS available to ALL who desires so.

And the challenges awaiting the freedom pilgrim will find in his quest will be closer to home than that of strangers.
Family for one can be a challenge. So could work. Friends and acquaintances can prove to be challenges.

Yet, one can choose to accept them as challenges to move forward. Or to fall back.

Or, one can simply learn that these are not really challenges in form. Simply misinformed purveyors of the comfort zone.

They mean the best, yet desire none of it for you. We appreciate their concern (or lack of it for our dreams) and MOVE onwards.

Every advocate of FREEDOM just have to realise that our FREEDOM is much more painful lost than the pain of avoiding challenges. Challenges MAY be avoided for this particular reason once, but other challenges in general will double. One wrong turn leads to another, remember?

Take the right turn, go thru the bumps and then you will the reason to LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST!

The Mac Mini review..

I wonder. I am a PC user. So far so good (with certain exceptions..).

Just read a review done by DivisionTwo and here's an excerpt from the review:

Mac Mini: The Emperor's New Computer
by Jorge Lopez, MCSE

But since its sleek look comes at the expense of the parallel port, serial ports, the PS/2 ports and the drive bays, potential Mac mini buyers should ask themselves just how much utility they're willing to sacrifice for style. Oh, did I forget to mention that the Mini has no PCI slots either? And no floppy disk drive? Well, no wonder they got the unit to be so small. No keyboard or mouse either. Sorry, Kayla, daddy's got to make another trip to Best Buy before you can play with your new computer...

... no 5.25" bays, no speakers, and no Windows XP...

hmm.. 5.25" bays? Floppy Disk drive? Can't connect to printer? Hellooo.. Is this guy from Mars? How checking out what comes in a notebook these days..

Weird & Weirder

Just yesterday, I was out doing a presentation for my associate. Weird factor #1: The guy whom were we supposed to meet said he was not coming. Ok, seems like your typical day. But Weirder factor #2: this guy just confirmed earlier THAT VERY DAY he WAS coming. The worse part was that we travelled all the way & he didn't even bother to call or even sms us! Sickos!

Anyhow, we meet lunatics all the time.

The Millionaire (??) Next door..

I have heard about it. Nearly bought since everybody like me wants to be one. Flipped thru it. Didn't buy it.

.. And good thing too!

According to the book, people who are millionaires (as written in MSN) :

"They live comfortable lifestyles, but are not wasteful."

"For the most part, they remain married to supportive and responsible spouses who run economically productive households -- from clipping coupons to buying household supplies in bulk. Bottom line: They spend less than they earn."

"The millionaires in his survey tend to have started businesses, and have built their wealth by finding a profitable niche. They tend to love what they do and are motivated by building the business, not by building wealth."

These people are what I call UNREAL MILLIONAIRES who are NOT so sure their million dollar bank account in the bank may be there if they went on a little binge in Hawaii, or are afraid that if that particular investment goes sour, so does their Nett juice!

If they love building their business, money wouldn't be a concern. Right now, it seems that money still seems to be controlling their life very much. Savings & coupons NEVER made anyone a millionaire. The fact that these people had to this is simple: Their flow of income is based on their active work. In order to maintain a millionaire status, they have to ensure working very hard PLUS being Scrooge McDuck!

People I associate with are Millionaires, Multi-Millionaires, Billionaires, live their life in line with their dreams - according to their means, not below it! Many of them have dreams of living a superb lifestyle - and that's how they live. And the best part, they continously make millionaires every year/month. Not one that is of being thrifty!! That is NOT living your DREAMS! These people understood the diff between UNREAL Millionaires and TRUE Millionaires! They build a wealth system that gives them MASSIVE passive FLOW of Income!

Are they afraid of losing their money? Not one bit! They know that their income is guaranteed with exponential growth!

And one more thing... there is no such thing as a self-made millionaire. What? You grew the wealth all by yourself, solely? Come on!!

Make a choice!

hi
In life, I can definitely make a choice.

Choose either bread crumbs of mediocrity from the tables of our laidback loser society OR choose to live on choice food & wine AT the table of winners!

Man was first and foremost created to be winners, never to live a life of mediocre stagnancy. Question is why today a lot of people choose the easy way out, knowing it would beat the spirit of triumph to live above the call of society - which is be a slave to another man!

How difficult and burdensome would it be to fight the good fight of magnificence for just a short while than to live under the heavy thumb of another man for the rest of our limited lives?

Is employment the path to live a life of freedom? Free from debts, pressures, anxieties, slavery... death? Perhaps not death in the spiritual, but the natural. Statistics shows that most people have to work until 55 before being able to retire comfortably. By then, most people would have achieved the greatests trophies they can carry for the rest of their pitiful little lives: Chronic heart diseases, terminal diseases, major diseases, loss of valuable time, living dependently on very little income from investments, living dependently on family, living dependently on McD working full-time..

... and the worst of ALL - lost the DREAM to have lived life to fullest when still young!

To those who choose the "golden age" of retirement (that's the only option available EVEN if have invested in properties or financial investments), then to them - hope the trumpet of selfishness bring joy to their family WHOM they should be thinking about the first place to give unadulterated FREEDOM!

What rattles me is the fact the most mediocre joes think that being a pro labourer (hey, that's what it is - except you get to work in an air-con room with a PC and nice little office outfit..other than that, just a labourer) is living life. I say to them, WAKE UP and SMELL THE YOUR BOSS'S BREATH!

Have a blast!

Great tool for bloggers!

Great news, chums!

Am trying this great tool called w.bloggar designed for easy blogging without the means of using the browser. It simply uses a thin client software, very much something like Messenger username & password screen, to log into your blog site.

Useful tool when i don't want another browser up for just blogging.

Try it! check it out at w.bloggar. Looks like fun from where I am sitting - and easy!

Oh yeah.. and the other thing.. when I minimize it, it hides at systray. Yup, this i must have..

Time to rebuild

It's totally devastating. The Tsunami has made the front lines for many more days than any other movie star, policitian, crime ever made.

And it's not that it is a spectacular, but because it has made so much destruction to so many live.

It's to time to put aside differences, views, pains - it is time to rebuild and heal. We cannot move until we stand as one.

Many lives destroyed. Many homes washed away. Much more lost. Banda Aceh practically wiped clean. Sri Lanka's coastlines strewn with destruction. Thailand's resort coast destroyed. Penang Island lost lives and many other places with such news.

It's time to forget our selfishness, and to be selfless! If you wish to help, look at South-East Asia Earthquake And Tsunami Blog.

Hope is but a choice away.

I was reading A Gathering Light by Jennifer Donnelly and found it somewhat inspiring. Well, somewhat since the story line didn't entice me to sit til wee hours of the mornings, yet it is the assurance of hope prevailing kept me going and finally got me satisfied.

It is a story about a farm girl living in 1906 who has lost her mother to cancer and was made to keep a promise, as a request by her dying mom, to take care of her sisters and her pa. By doing so, it meant sacrificing her dreams of being a writer.

Boldly enough, with all the struggles and pain of farm life, of finding love, of finding a legendary poet as a mentor - she MADE a CHOICE. She made a choice to live her dreams so that her life wouldn't be left meaningless by the simplicity and mediocrity farm life left for a girl. She made a choice to live in hope.

It is all about our dreams. It is whether we want to make dreams come true. That's when hope comes true. It is but a choice away. We can choose to live in hope because of the desire to live a life or we can choose to sink into deep trenches of a gray life when we simply choose to make a living. Your call.

Have a blast!

Incredible People!

Can you believe it? Totally incredible!
Michael Schumacher contributed USD10 Million..
Michael & Susan Dell Foundation contributed USD1 Million..
Sandra Bullock contributed USD1 Million..
Bill Gates contributed USD3 Million..

How much can we give? Yeah, some will say it's all about the heart. Well, easy for you to say when you're not at the losing end.

Truth is: we are so darn complacent that we don't strive be PERSONALLY FREE to give really A LOT when they need it! How unfortunate beings have we become!

We must realise that we are created for greatness, and from that greatness to make others live better and achieve greatness.

Thank God for achievers such as Schumacher, Dell, Gates and Bullock who wanted more in life so they could bless others!

Have a blast!

Where is Your Life headed?

Some of us get to the job early and stay late. Some live for vacations and personal days. Others seem to be always on break or out to lunch.

Few people are born with fully formed, innate abilities, but everyone is born with an innate potential that can only be cultivated by desire.
- Bruce Garrabrandt, Author of The Power of Having Desire

So check your life. Are you really at where you want to be? Or simply following the flow of mediocrity?

Have a fantastic 2005! Go for the DREAMS!

Don't Be A Frog In The Well!

Parable of the frog: baby-frog living in well, sees above only sky. Like, very small & dull. POING! Jumps out and see wide & bigger land as far as eye can see- WOWEE! Hops until sees a cow- COWABUNGA! Like, totally amazed, goes back to well & tells mom-frog it seen a very big creature. HUH? Perplexed, Mom-frog very skeptical. Thinking it know better, expands like a BLOATED beer belly to relate to the size. But each time baby-frog says bigger... Until BOOM! Mom-frog goes SPLAT!!

Moral: narrow perspective will always be limited by narrow vision and hindered by stoopid narrow-minded supersized skepticism.
